As a cross-application technology, mechatronics plays a decisive role where the improvement of existing products and the development of new ones are concerned. Despite its great importance for the innovative spirit and the competitive edge of today’s enterprises, the field of mechatronics has not had its own platform in the past. This gap is being filled by trade fair promoters fairXperts GmbH with mechatroniX. The objective of the international trade fair for progressive product development is to generate impetus for innovation and new applications by presenting mechatronic systems and solutions. mechatroniX will take place for the first time in Augsburg (Germany) from the 27th through the 29th of May, 2008.
Whether motor vehicle manufacturing, production technology or consumer electronics is involved – mechatronic systems have become absolutely indispensable in many fields of technology. The goal is to create products with greater levels of economy and environmental friendliness, improved characteristics, more operating convenience and enhanced safety through the use of mechatronic systems, and to reduce consumption of natural resources and energy. In order to achieve these objectives, it will be necessary to unite and present existing knowledge concerning mechatronic systems and their use in a multi-industry, multi-technolgy setting. For this reason, suppliers of mechatronic systems, as well as product developers, design engineers, computer scientists and technical buyers, have expressed their desire for an appropriate presentation and communication platform. mechatroniX, which will take place in Augsburg from 27 through 29 May 2008, fulfils this desire for a specialised trade fair for mechatronics.
Clearly Delineated Trade Fair Concept
“In the past, mechatronics has been a fringe topic at numerous trade fairs, and has thus only been presented in a fragmentary manner. As opposed to this, mechatroniX will concern itself solely with mechatronic systems and components, as well as their use, and will thus provide a complete overview of developments in this area”, explains Hartmut Herdin, managing director of trade fair promoters fairXperts GmbH in Neuffen, Germany. The exhibition offerings provided by the trade fair for progressive product development through mechatronics are thus focused on systems, components and parts from the fields of actuator technology, sensor technology and process technology, as well as other areas which make use of mechatronic systems such as optics. Further offerings include services, research, science and training. Thanks to its clearly defined trade fair concept, mechatroniX will make it possible for suppliers who are active in the above mentioned fields to present their products and services to the desired target groups in a highly targeted fashion a – without any wasted coverage.
On the other hand, by focusing exclusively on mechatronics the promoters are creating an information and procurement platform which is unique throughout Europe for product developers, design engineers, computer scientists, technicians and technical buyers from the motor vehicles industry, aviation and aerospace, machinery and equipment manufacturing, consumer electronics, the household appliance industry and many other sectors. “We also see mechatroniX as an initiator for new collaborations and projects”, says Hartmut Herdin, indicating another of the new trade fair’s targeted objectives.
The exhibition offerings will be supplemented by an expert forum covering current issues and developments in the field of mechatronics.
