LogiMAT 2024: Farasis Energy presents innovative battery technology for material handling

The developer and manufacturer of high-performance battery technology and pouch cells will be showcasing its products for electromobility at the international trade fair in Stuttgart from March 19 to 21.

(PresseBox) (Nürtingen, )
In Hall 10, booth A26, Farasis Energy will be bringing the topic of electromobility for reliable use in material transportation to life. The focus will be on the already established Atlas module and its areas of application as well as the possibility of individual adaptation to customer specifications. “The electrification of vehicles in the field of material transportation poses a number of challenges that we can effectively solve with our battery technology. The optimal use of the available installation space for sufficient power, range and particular ruggedness are just some of the points that characterize our technology. We also respond to the wishes of our customers, for example by enabling the integration of electrical connections and safety elements, cell monitoring and BMS”, says Dr. Keith Kepler, CTO and co-founder of Farasis Energy.

Powerful and rugged for indoor and outdoor use

Depending on the vehicle, between 2 and 40 modules can be accommodated in a forklift truck, offering an output of between 6.8 kWh and 272 kWh. This performance allows for long range and fast charging; the modules only need to be charged once or twice a day; a lunch break can be sufficient. The module also offers high performance in short intervals, e.g. when lifting heavy loads and recovering energy when lowering the forks. The module is potted, making it particularly rugged and suitable for outdoor use. Regardless of environmental influences such as rain, heat or uneven surfaces, the module maintains a constant output.

Green material flow

“Companies that switch to electric vehicles at an early stage can not only be more environmentally friendly and position themselves sustainably, but also benefit from the economic advantages in the long term. With its innovative battery technologies, Farasis Energy wants to make a significant contribution to the broad acceptance and widespread use of alternative drive technologies in the near future”, says Aslan Göger, Director Business Development at Farasis Energy Europe.

Farasis Energy

Farasis Energy is a leading developer and manufacturer of high-performance lithium-ion battery technology and pouch cells for electric mobility and other sustainable power storage solutions. Founded in 2002 by Dr. Keith Kepler and Dr. Yu Wang in California, the company now operates research and development centers in China, Germany, and the United States. There are currently two production facilities in Ganzhou and Zhenjiang (China), with further production facilities being built by 2025, thereby increasing total planned capacity to 145 GWh/a. A new battery plant is also being built in Gemlik (Turkey) with the establishment of the Siro joint venture between Turkish electric car manufacturer Togg and Farasis Energy, which produces modules and packs since March 2023. With more than twenty years of experience in research and development and with nearly 300 patents, Farasis Energy is shaping the future of electric mobility as a pioneer. In addition to Togg, its major strategic partners also include companies such as Mercedes-Benz and Geely.
