Rückgang von 27 Prozent gegenüber März 2007 (3,22 Mio.) entspricht, da eine geringere Anzahl von Börsentransaktionen durchgeführt wurde und es im Vergleich zum Vorjahresmonat drei Handelstage weniger gab. Bei 72 Prozent dieser Transaktionen handelte es sich um Over-The-Counter-Transaktionen (OTC), 28 Prozent waren Börsentransaktionen.
Die Zahl der Transaktionen auf dem deutschen Inlandsmarkt erreichte 6,63 Mio., ein Rückgang von 30,7 Prozent gegenüber März 2007 (8,36 Mio.), ebenfalls aufgrund einer geringeren Anzahl von Börsentransaktionen und der im Vergleich zu März 2007 fehlenden drei Handelstage. Von diesen Transaktionen waren 68 Prozent Börsengeschäfte und 32 Prozent OTC-Transaktionen.
Auf Quartalsbasis war ein Rückgang der Wertpapiertransaktionen um insgesamt 6 Prozent von 31,3 Mio. auf 29,5 Mio. zu verzeichnen, wobei das Minus von 15 Prozent bei den internationalen Transaktionen durch eine nur geringe Abschwächung der Zahl inländischer Transaktionen (-2 Prozent) gemildert wurde. Für den Geschäftsbereich Global Securities Financing (GSF) belief sich der Höchststand der durchschnittlichen monatlichen Außenstände auf 389,99 Mrd. €.
Insgesamt wurde im Servicegeschäft, das die Bereiche Triparty Repo, Wertpapierleihe und Collateral Management umfasst, ein Anstieg von 25 Prozent gegenüber dem Vorjahresmonat (312,55 Mrd. €) verzeichnet. Im Bereich Investment Fund Services wurden 426.650 Transaktionen bearbeitet, was einem Rückgang von 20,7 Prozent gegenüber März 2007 (617.792) entspricht.
