Until now users could only calculate splined connections according to DIN 5480 or define an individual geometry. But now users can calculate splined connections according to ISO 4156 and ANSI B.92.2, too. In addition to flank-centred connections, diameter-centred connections for DIN 5480 were added. Furthermore, the calculation according to DIN 5482 is available. It is recommended that DIN 5482 should no longer be used for new designs. Nevertheless, it is still being used today, particularly for spare parts.
Besides the advanced features, it is possible to change the tolerance standard. Two different dimensions for the tooth thickness can be selected - the actual and the effective tooth thickness. The different dimensions will then be considered during calculation and output of the gear tooth form as well as for the determination of the test dimensions, such as number of teeth measured for face width measurement or diametrical measurement over balls or pins. The user can also generate a 2-D DXF file of the accurate gear tooth form.
The 3-D model can be created by using the eAssistant CAD plugins. Upon user request, the user interface now displays the share factor. If necessary, the share factor can be also defined. The new version is available to all registered eAssistant users.
