Speakers include Prof. Andreas Jossen from the Technical University of München, who will examine battery safety issues, and Dr. Menahem Andermann from Total Battery Consulting, who will discuss the development of the market for electric vehicles. Dr. Winfried Wilcke from the IBM Research Center in San José/USA will highlight the future potential of lithium-air systems, and Dr. Kazunori Ozawa, one of the developers of the first lithium-ion battery, will speak about the pioneering activities of Sony in the area of lithium-ion technology. An exhibition will complement the programme. Prof. Martin Winter from Münster University and Prof. Dirk Uwe Sauer from the RWTH Aachen University will again be in charge of the scientific oversight of the event.
On the day before the conference, 24 March, Battery Day NRW will take place under the patronage of Svenja Schulze, the Minister for Innovation, Science and Research of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. It will focus on activities in the battery sector across the state. Up to 600 participants are expected to attend the two events. The venue is the Messe und Congress Centrum Halle Münsterland. At the conclusion of Battery Day NRW and of the second conference day of Advanced Battery Power, participants will also have the opportunity to visit the MEET Battery Research Center.
