Bundling cables, hoses and goods with cable ties is a relatively simple process – but on an industrial scale it can take a disproportionate amount of time. Optimising aspects of cable management is therefore an integral part of automation, with the primary aim of maximising productivity while controlling costs, time and waste.
Introducing speed and flexibility
The HellermannTyton team will be showcasing its leading cable tie application tools ranging from the new ProCut battery-powered cable tie gun to the versatile CPK hybrid and ATS flex automatic bundling systems, which can be used manually or fully integrated into automated production.
A highlight at the Hannover Messe will be the unique ATS flex system, operated by a robotic arm. The ATS flex can apply a cable tie ten times faster than a human, while eliminating the cut-off strap that is a by-product of applying traditional cable ties. As well as increasing efficiency, this innovation also helps to reduce waste, with an estimated saving of 100 kg of strap waste saved for every 150,000 cable ties used.
Towards a lower CO2 footprint
As well as conserving resources, HellermannTyton is working to minimise the environmental impact of the products it offers its customers. At Hannover Messe, the company will be featuring more climate-friendly material options. For example, parts that can be manufactured from polypropylene or bio-based polymers, which significantly reduce the product carbon footprint compared to a nylon equivalent.
The HellermannTyton team at Hannover Messe is looking forward to exploring the cost-saving potential of ATS flex or discussing the opportunities for reducing climate impact by rethinking engineering material choices.
We invite industry professionals to stop by and explore our latest innovations in automation, cable ties and fastening systems, electrical installation, labelling, RFID technology and protective and heat shrink tubing.
