IDS Imaging Development Systems, a leading German manufacturer and supplier of machine vision and image processing components, has recently set up a branch in the USA. The new subsidiary, IDS, Inc., is located in Cambridge (MA) and headed by CEO Niall Worn. Previously Head of Sales at the IDS head office in Obersulm in Germany, Niall Worn will continue to manage IDS's international sales.
“By taking this step, we are fulfilling a long-cherished wish of our US-based OEMs as well as being able to provide real-time support to our US-Distributors” explains Jürgen Hartmann, one of the two company founders and managing directors of IDS. “In adition, the subsidiary also supports our growth strategy and allows us to show our colors on one of the largest machine vision markets in the world. We are already represented in almost all European and Asian countries anyway through exclusive distributors.”
