Hence, the interface thus bridges the gap between conventional interfaces and the high performance modern sensors. By combining the USB 3.0 interface with the uEye camera design, the cameras already fulfill all of today's and tomorrow’s expectations for the industrial camera market.
The camera series currently boasts three different sensors. Monochrome and color sensors from Aptina and e2v offer resolutions from Wide VGA to 5 Megapixel.
The 5 Megapixel Aptina sensor (MT9P006) already boasts the new A-Pix pixel technology with a deeper photo diode and light guide and an increased sensivity of up to 30 %.
In the coming months IDS plans to upgrade the current sensor portfolio with new high performance and high resolution sensors CMOS and CCD sensors up to 10 Megapixel from e2v, CMOSIS and Sony. The new e2v EV76C661 sensor particularly suits all near infrared applications with 40 % efficiency at 850 nm and a maximum quantum efficiency of 80 %.
The USB 3 uEye CP cameras offer a range of great hardware features including trigger, flash and two GPIOs, which can also serve as a serial RS232 interface to control external devices.
Due to the integrated power supply and compact size (29x29x29 mm) the cameras are not only well suited for embedded systems but a great variety of applications: Particularly for 3D imaging within process automation, bodywork inspection, medical engineering, robotics or logistics.
Users of the new USB 3 uEye CP camera series also benefit from excellent image quality, high frame rates and the well-known ease of use of the uEye SDK.
