Happy birthday: infodas will celebrate its 50th anniversary on 15 August 2024, with an incomparable history behind to look back on. INFODAS GmbH has developed into a leading provider in the area of cybersecurity and IT. For five decades now, the company has been a reliable partner of public administration, especially the German armed forces and authorities and organisations tasked with security issues as well as the security and defense industry. With its comprehensive and top-certified range of products and consultancy services, infodas has significantly helped implement and further develop innovative technologies and security-relevant solutions in the world of cybersecurity. The takeover by Airbus Defence and Space is set to pave the way for a successful and growth-oriented future for the company.
It was exactly 50 years ago today that the modern-day INFODAS GmbH was born. At the time, it was the Ethernet and TCP protocol that laid the foundations for what would later become the Internet. And at the centre of it all were three company founders who had their fingers on the pulse and wanted to change the IT world from their base in Cologne. The digital pioneers from Germany’s Rhineland region were pursuing the goal of developing a portable database system. Their vision paid off early on in the company's young history, and, with the help of innovative communication solutions, their first projects in the field of command information systems laid the foundations for a trusting partnership with the German Armed Forces that continues to this day. The dynamic growth of the still young company quickly made itself felt, prompting a move to new company headquarters in Cologne-Chorweiler in 1980. Although infodas now has six branches in Germany, its roots remain in the Rhineland region. The company currently employs over 250 people of 25 different nationalities.
It achieved a major milestone in the early 2000s by developing and launching SDoT Cross Domain Solutions. These cross-domain solutions ensure differently classified systems and networks can communicate securely with each other and exchange data. infodas’ SDoT product range is available on the market, battle-tested and realises customer requirements reliably and safely. Developed and manufactured in Germany, the products fulfil the strictest requirements of the Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI), EU and NATO.
Over the last two decades, infodas has established itself as a leading company for cross-domain solutions on the international market. The SDoT Cross Domain Solutions by infodas, which are authorised up to classification levels GEHEIM, EU SECRET and NATO SECRET, are used worldwide on the ground, in the air and at sea. In the defense industry, the public sector and critical infrastructures, the powerful and trustworthy products ensure highly secure data communication and protect users and their sensitive data from the ever-increasing threat of cybercrime.
