With this product update, the Munich-based software house is extending its licensing model and thus allowing its customers to control their licenses more precisely. Up until now, the users of InLoox had to buy a separate license for each computer on which they wanted to use the project management software. The new licensing model provides licensing per user. It no longer matters how many computers the user works on with InLoox. Existing InLoox machine licenses, however, are still valid.
“We have adjusted our price model to the customers’ wishes”, said Andreas Tremel, managing director of InLoox, explaining the changeover to a new licensing model. The average user works at several devices, he or she switches, for example, between a desktop and a notebook computer. For the majority of the users, working with InLoox will become cheaper. “This new licensing model fulfills the wishes of our customers”, Andreas Tremel summarizes.
In addition, InLoox 6.6 is ready for use with the new “InLoox Web App” web client, which the company will soon be introducing. InLoox Web App extends InLoox Enterprise Server to a fully-fledged online project platform that enables teams to do mobile project work via the Internet.
Compared to previous versions, InLoox 6.6 contains several smaller improvements. The loading of Outlook was changed to improve the starting performance in Outlook 2010. Moreover, an issue with upgrading the Oracle database from earlier versions was fixed and an error with the Outlook 2003 mail form was removed. The remote support tools were updated, the Outlook 2003 search was re-designed and it is now possible to show the responsible department in project reports generated using InLoox Report Designer.
InLoox 6.6 is, like the previous InLoox versions, seamlessly integrated in Outlook and is free-of-charge to all InLoox customers of version 6. Anyone interested in testing the software can obtain a fully-functional 30-day trial version. Both the update and the trial versions can be found at: http://www.inloox.com/
