As e-mobility becomes more widespread, automotive plants are being retrofitted or newly built. Automotive manufacturers are meeting the new challenges by introducing digital production platforms based on the leading horizontal IoT platforms of cloud providers like IBM, Amazon, Microsoft and Google. To keep up with the rapidly progressing digital transformation of the major OEMs, the medium-sized supplier industry needs appropriate IIoT solutions.
IoTOS is a provider of industrial IoT solutions that can be operated as hybrid cloud applications using container management solutions such as Red Hat OpenShift in both public and private cloud data centres. Using an integration service, the IoTOS Suite’s IoT solution portfolio can be embedded in any IT system landscape such as ERP, CRM, PLM, MES, Scada, etc.
The solutions enable medium-sized companies in particular to develop new business models using their valuable data and to become involved with the emerging digital production platforms of large-scale industry. In cooperation with established industrial companies, IoTOS’ applications create added value for the flow of information across the supply chain.
Seamless tracking of production orders – in near-real-time
IoTOS is a member of Smart Electronic Factory e.V. The association tests, develops and implements Industry 4.0 solutions – similar to open-heart surgery – at the operational factory of EMS service provider Limtronik. As a result, medium-sized companies benefit from practical, functional Industry 4.0 concepts and solutions.
At HANOVER FAIR, IoTOS and its partners from the SEF group of companies will present an innovative solution which, based on capacity information from electronics supplier Limtronik and networking with the SupplyOn supplier platform, enables seamless tracking of a production order – from the order to the delivery of the goods at the plant – in near-real time.
At the trade fair showcase, the companies Bosch Rexroth AG, SupplyOn AG, Limtronik GmbH, German Edge Cloud and IoTOS GmbH have joined forces to illustrate horizontal integration.
The showcase will demonstrate how the IoTOS Suite’s track & trace service is supplied with data from local production-related IT systems via the IoTOS integration service in order to make the data available for internal industrial analytics applications or cross-supply chain track & trace analyses.
Data from the local track & trace service is provided to the OEM’s supply chain collaboration platform or digital production platform via an international data space (IDS) connector from German Edge Cloud (a Friedhelm Loh Group company). Via the IDS connector, the supplier can determine which data is passed on to its customers and for what purpose and over what period it may be used. In this way, the generator of the data retains control over its data.
Water quality portal based on the IoTOS Suite
Safe access to clean water is becoming increasingly important worldwide and water an increasingly critical resource. The initial version of a water quality portal based on the IoTOS Suite will be on display at the AWS stand (Hall 6, F46). This trend-setting project was developed in cooperation with spectral sensors manufacturer TriOS GmbH, satellite technology specialist GESAT GmbH and the Fraunhofer Institute of Optronics, System Technologies and Image Exploitation (IOSB).
