The airport solution SKYport of ISO Software Systeme from Nuremberg is going to process the entire flight data management and the controlling of the air traffic. This includes data exchange via the net of the Societé Internationale de Télécommunications Aeronautiques (SITA), data supply for the airport website and live data for Swiss Teletext. The supply of the public displays, for instance, the tables showing arrival and departure times, via the newly developed component SKYport FIDS is also part of the ambitious project.
SKYport contains web based application components for airport management and is part of the new Aviation Suite of ISO Software Systeme. Besides SKYport, the product lines SKYfly for airlines and SKYcontrol for air traffic control are also included. The Aviation Suite is based on ISOs own Java framework Dynamic Components. They are the strategic platform for all new product developments within the ISO Gruppe.
The airport Bern-Belp has been using the previous solution SKY-Base for some time and will still use it for aeronautical billing. "After many years of successful usage of SKY-Base and an exceedingly obliging collaboration with ISO, the decision for SKYport is a logical step, which also fits our further web 2.0 projects. In addition to the approved collaboration with ISO, the flexible extension and expansion options convinced us. As a regional airport we are now best prepared for the future", states Daniel Steffen, head of marketing, communication and route network, Airport Bern-Belp.
