Exactly 364 days after the first field visit to 'Fraport Slovenija' in Ljubljana, the time had come: SKYport AODB and 9 additional interfaces were smoothly put into operation. Thus the airport replaced its previous central flight information system FIS and has put a 'standard software solution' into operation for the first time. With Fraport Slovenjia, the number of Fraport airports using SKYport has reached already 15.
The interfaces feed various systems – from Slovenian teletext to the airfreight system. The Ljubljana-based airline Adria also provides SKYport with its current flight data via an interface. This gives the airport planning dependability and allows it to allocate appropriate resources to the Adriatic flights.
Yet this is only a start: In 2018, the SKYport FIDS module will be put into operation, providing travelers with flight information via SKYport.
In a final project step, SKYport Billing, ISO´s module for billing flight movements and flight-related services, will be introduced.
Boštjan Rakovec, Head of IT of Fraport Slovenija, summarized: “With SKYport, we’ve got a reliable software solution which supports our business processes and enables us to face the challenges of the future.”
