In addition to existing support for over 50 other microprocessors and controllers JTAG Technologies has now introduced easy options for programming embedded flash memory within the TMS320F28xx series of DSCs; used widely in automotive and defence applications. This means that in addition to precise PCB testing and high-throughput, on-board programming of discrete flash memories and CPLDs, users of JTAG Technologies' tools can now perform ISP of embedded flash memory within these devices.
Custom program registers, accessible via the built-in JTAG interface, allow JTAG Technologies' controller hardware to stream flash image data into the internal memory rapidly and efficiently. The applications are available now and may be executed through JTAG Technologies' ProVision developer suite or within any of its comprehensive range of run-time software options.
Run-time options include JTAG's own Production Stand-Alones software plus ICT (In-Circuit Test) integration for Agilent 3070, Aeroflex 42xx, Spea 3030 and Teradyne TestStation, FPTs (Flying Probe Testers) from Takaya, Seica or Spea. Functional systems such as those based on NI's LabVIEW, LabWindows, TestStand and GeoTest's ATEasy are also supported.
High-speed device ISP using JTAG is critical in saving money within volume production applications. What's more, field service can also benefit where this support can help with system upgrades. Peter van den Eijnden, Managing Director JTAG Technologies comments: "This new facility is a timely introduction for several of our key customers. We are proud of the fact we can quickly engineer these solutions according to customer demands."
