Capital Fund Management Optimizes Global Online Trading with New Network Data Center from Juniper Networks

Financial Investment Management Company Lowers Total Cost of Ownership with Juniper's 3-2-1 Data Center Network Architecture

(PresseBox) (Sunnyvale, Calif., )
Juniper Networks® (NYSE: JNPR) today announced that Capital Fund Management (CFM), a Paris-based global financial investment management company, has deployed a "new network" data center running the Junos® operating system to optimize its global trading infrastructure. CFM's new network supports its sophisticated algorithm-based trading engines, as well as the real-time market data backbone that underpins all trading and investment decisions based on statistical analysis of markets. The Juniper deployment has helped CFM to master the massive amount of market data flowing on the network and to extract profits for its investors.

The company operates in every major financial market and therefore needs its infrastructure to support a global trading platform. Network performance and reliability delivered is crucial to time-sensitive online transactions. By deploying Juniper Networks MX Series Universal Edge Routers and EX Series Ethernet Switches with Virtual Chassis fabric technology running across a single network operating system, Junos, CFM can ensure high-availability while significantly reducing operational complexity and lowering total cost of ownership.

"Low-latency to exchanges enhances the quality of our market data feeds, as well as the efficiency of our trading executions, as any undue delays cost us money," said Jacques Saulière, co-CEO, Capital Fund Management. "Our proof of concept tests showed that Juniper delivers new levels of performance and it also greatly simplifies network operations with a genuinely unified operating system running across our switching and routing fabric. We chose Juniper as the only vendor that could genuinely deliver on our vision of a data center that is simpler, more automated and more secure."

"Juniper's 3-2-1 data center network architecture helps customers simplify, share, secure and automate their network," said Andy Ingram, vice president of product marketing and business development, Fabric and Switching Technologies, Juniper Networks. "CFM demands a new network approach that eliminates the tradeoffs between experience and economics, and provides better services at a lower total cost. With Juniper's innovation in the data center, CFM can now utilize the network to its maximum potential and focus on delivering world-class investment management services."

The MX480 routers possess Advanced Routing capabilities like MPLS Network Virtualization, Low-Latency Multicast and Carrier-Class Reliability that have made Juniper Networks routers the platforms of choice for customers seeking maximum performance, availability and service agility. The EX4200 Ethernet Switches feature Virtual Chassis fabric technology, which enables up to 10 interconnected switches to operate as a single logical device. With Virtual Chassis fabric technology, CFM can combine the compact, pay-as-you-grow economics and low power and cooling requirements of stackable switches with the performance, availability, operational ease and port densities of chassis-based platforms to support incremental growth without adding complexity or requiring large upfront investments.
