At the core of the stand layout was a 1: 1 simulation of the storage and picking processes in an automated warehouse. Here, the Kardex personnel gave trade visitors and customers from a wide variety of industries a hands-on experience of the processes in the warehouse environment. The main features included Kardex Remstar's Vertical Buffer Module series for fast-moving small parts as well as the Vertical Lift and Carousel systems for order picking of a wide variety of articles and goods. In combination with the MCrossDrive 3D bin shuttle from Kardex Mlog, this solution clearly demonstrated how an efficient material flow solution works in warehouse logistics and how product re-stocking in the company can be made even more productive. In addition, Mlog introduced its innovative MSpacer telescopic fork and the dynamic MMove pallet shuttle, which safely moves units weighing up to 1,500 kg.
In addition, visitors were able to see for themselves how the Power Pick Onboard software guarantees smooth processes in the warehouse and manages the fast and high-precision processing of pick orders. The Color Picking solution integrated in the simulation showed the audience up close and personal how pick processes can be further optimised through visual accents.
The way a user always receives the right information at the right time during order picking was clearly demonstrated by the use of data glasses with Ubimax software. The aim of the solution is to support the operator digitally during the order picking process. The display projects important data needed for picking, such as the item's position and number. Another function of the glasses is a built-in camera, which allows the operator, among other things, to scan barcodes. In daily operation, the operator is guided through the process, can follow the instructions quickly and has his hands free to concentrate on the picking tasks. In addition, if required, users receive direct assistance from support, which is directly connected via the camera and can transmit instructions through image and sound.
Another focus of the trade fair presentation this year was the increasingly important area of life cycle services and digitalisation. These included the presentation of Kardex Remstar's Remote Assistance for efficient, remote support and the presentation of new service contract portfolios, which provide end-to-end support to Kardex Remstar's specialist team after installation.
The trade fair presentation was enhanced by specialist presentations in the Innovation Forum of Hall 1. Bernd Rögner, Director New Business Kardex Remstar, talked about the changed requirements in the warehouse and the efficient solutions, called "Smart E-Commerce Solutions - When Time Matters", which Kardex Remstar offers here. In a further expert discussion on "Refurbishment & Expansion", Matthias Höll, Project Manager at Kardex Mlog and Christian Klages, Head of Engineering & Security Distribution at Sanofi-Aventis Deutschland GmbH, reported on the experience of successfully implementing a joint logistics project.
Of course, the Kardex Group stand party, which is very popular with trade fair visitors and employees, was held again this year. Here, guests and exhibitors were given an ideal opportunity to enjoy informal meals and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere.
