Der Administrator ist somit in der Lage, das Netzwerk zentral zu kontrollieren und auf Virenangriffe zu reagieren. Der Administrator kann jetzt Linux-Hosts in die logisch verwaltete Antivirus-Netzstruktur einbinden, was die Umsetzung des Antiviren-Konzepts erleichtert.
Bei beiden Programmen handelt es sich um zweiteilige Antivirus-Lösungen. Das erste Modul ist in das Betriebssystem integriert und kontrolliert alle Vorgänge, bei denen Dateien modifiziert werden, wobei das System durch die integrierte Komponente "kavmonitor" (on-access-Scanner) in Echtzeit geschützt wird.
