- New address of Kögel Logistics Centre: Boschstrasse 25, 89079 Ulm, Germany
- Noerpel takes over Kögel spare parts logistics
- Over 6,000 square metres of warehouse space
- New: "Kögel Parts" shop on site – buy items locally
Kögel Trailer GmbH & Co. KG has recorded continuous growth in the spare parts business. In the last two years, this has resulted in an increase in the sales of spare parts in the mid double-digit percentage range. In order to take into account this positive development and to ensure further growth, the spare parts warehouse moved on 1st January 2017, together with the Kögel Parts Sales, Pricing and Parts Dispatch divisions. The move was from the site in Neu-Ulm, Bavaria, to Ulm in Baden-Württemberg, more specifically to Boschstrasse 25. This is where C. E. Noerpel GmbH, one of the leading logistics service providers in southern Germany, provides an even more professional warehouse logistics service for Kögel spares and consumables. This allows Kögel customers and over 700 Kögel service partners, as well as numerous spare parts dealers in Europe, to benefit from even more rapid delivery of spares.
The new site not only provides modern office space for Kögel staff, but also over 5,000 square metres of shelf space for spares and an additional 1,000 square metres of block storage. Large and bulky parts are placed onto specially manufactured cantilever racks. This ensures that more than 8,500 types of spares, items and commodities can be properly and correctly stored.
The new Kögel logistics centre in the Ulm-Donautal industrial area will be operated by the staff of C. E. Noerpel GmbH, one of the leading logistics service providers in southern Germany, in accordance with Kögel specifications. The specially trained Noerpel staff make use of the latest warehouse technology to manage goods receiving, warehouse technology and dispatch. This ensures that all parts and consumables are appropriately packaged, labelled and barcoded. The parts are dispatched via a forwarding company, parcel service, night express or courier, as preferred by the customer or as specified by Kögel. Noerpel can offer the entire range of dispatch methods thanks to its own logistics track and vehicle fleet. This guarantees rapid and smooth processing.
"Kögel Parts" spares shop at a new location
The "Kögel Parts" spares shop directly next to the Kögel logistics centre is completely new. With immediate effect, customers now have the option of buying the goods they need directly on site from Monday to Friday between 8 am and 6 pm, or to collect goods they have ordered. It is not just Kögel-specific parts that are available here: common accessories such as axle and brake consumables and load-securing materials are also available.
"The old site simply became too small. It often took a long time for lorries to be completely loaded, leading to long waiting times for their drivers. This is fortunately a thing of the past," says Anton Bigelmaier, Head of After Market at Kögel.
Kögel Parts Shop: The 24-hour online assistant
Naturally, the Online Parts Shop will still be on the Kögel website, in the navigation menu under the "Parts Shop" tab. There are two ways of placing an order quickly. You can enter a known item number and directly transfer the item to your shopping basket. Alternatively, you can place an order using the vehicle identification number: In this case, the Parts Shop shows you in your browser all relevant spare parts and their availability for the individual sub-assemblies of the vehicle. Drawings of the spare parts product groups also help you find the right parts. Once you have selected the spare parts you need in one of these two ways, you enter the desired shipping method and your order is created in your shopping basket. The shopping basket shows a clear summary of the selected spare parts along with their availability.
