First Kugler-Womako automatic plastic spiral binding machine in Brazil

(PresseBox) (Nürtingen, )
Brazil recently saw the market launch of its first ProBind P, an innovation which enables plastic spiral bound products to be manufactured with uniform product quality and low costs.

Since August 2010, a renowned Brazilian manufacturer is producing stationery products on a Kugler-Womako automatic plastic spiral binding machine.

The ProBind plastic spiral binding machine is used in both the stationery and the bookbinding industries. With a punching speed of 105 cycles and a production speed of approx. 25 articles per minute, it is one of the fastest automatic plastic spiral binding machines in its class.

The ProBind processes the plastic coil from the roll and then coils the spiral into the final product. This enables inline production from cuttosize paper all the way through to the final product. Even books up to 26 mm thickness can be bound with plastic spiral. In Brazil, these thicknesses are in particular demand for plasticbound school and composition books.

The plastic spiral is a type of binding that has long been in favour in Brazil due to its stability and unlimited color options. Another advantage of the plastic spiral over the metal spiral is the lower risk of injury due to the material properties. In recent years, this safety aspect has become increasingly important.

The ProBind is available in different variants and can be used for both metal and plastic spiral binding and optionally for double wire binding.

Kugler-Womako is presenting its binding solutions at the Escolar 2010 trade show from August 30 to September 2, 2010 in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
