Das neue, hochmoderne IP-VPN basiert auf der MPLS Technologie Infrastruktur und ersetzt das bis jetzt von Minimax genutzte Frame Relay Datennetz. Der Focus der Nutzung liegt im Bereich „Interne Kommunikation“. Zu den Applikationen, die eingesetzt werden, zählen SAP, E-Mail und Datendienste. Externe und interne Minimax-Kunden profitieren künftig von noch besserem Service sowie weiter optimierter Servicequalität. Darüber hinaus genießen die Kunden durch die Beseitigung von Breitbandengpässen und durch den Einsatz der MPLS-Technologie deutlich höhere Flexibilität in den Anwendungen.

Neben der hohen operativen Zuverlässigkeit ermöglicht das LambdaNet-VPN durch skalierbare Übertragungskapazitäten die flexible Nutzung des Netzes. Für die Anbindung an das VPN benötigt die Minimax Gruppe pro Standort lediglich eine Verbindung. Dadurch ist das Unternehmen in der Lage, zwischen seinen Standorten eine geschlossene Netzinfrastruktur aufzubauen, die jederzeit bedarfsorientiert einfach und schnell ausgebaut werden kann. Die LambdaNet Communications Deutschland übernimmt das komplette Management des VPNs. Die Minimax Gruppe nutzt für die Anbindung der Niederlassungen 2 Mbit/s Verbindungen. Durch den gezielten Einsatz von Backuplösungen über DSL und ISDN wird darüber hinaus eine höchst mögliche Verfügbarkeit gewährleistet.
Für die Anbindung an das Internet stehen 10 Mbit/s zur Verfügung. Je nach Anforderung kann LambdaNet dem Kunden 2 bis 1.000 Mbit/s sowie alle gängigen xDSL Varianten zur Verfügung stellen.
