The Wi2U car hotspot was especially designed for in-car use allowing up to eight users to simul-taneously access the Internet via UMTS connection while on the go - no matter if it is updating your status in a social network, enjoying your favorite online radio station or checking emails. With the new software update, the Wi2U car hotspots' user menu is now also available in Spanish and French. The integrated provider database has been enhanced to now cover the details of 90 percent of all international providers. Installing the Wi2U car hotspot is particularly easy, as all necessary data is automatically drawn directly from the SIM card and the integrated database. All it takes is an initial registration via the included WLAN-key and entering the PIN of the user's SIM card. When travelling, one can easily swap the SIM of one's home carrier with one of a provider in the country travelling in - and safe money by avoiding extensive roaming costs.
The built-in GPS unit allows the use of location based services as well as positioning the car. The newly released update optimizes this service: on demand, the Wi2U car hotspot sends a positioning file via email or SMS to the car holder whenever the ignition is turned on or off. Unauthorized use of the device - and hence the car - can therefore immediately be detected. The new feature also facilitates locating a car in a huge car park.
The flexible shut-off delay feature enables the car holder to adjust whether the Wi2U car hotspot should wind down automatically right after turning off the car or not before any time between 15 minutes and four hours after doing so. Irrespective of the chosen shut-off delay, positioning de-tails are sent to the car holder right after turning off the engine.
"Using the Internet almost anywhere has become a commodity. Cars are no exceptions, as the increasing interest in the Wi2U car hotspot has shown within the last months. The firmware update integrates user feedback we received lately", explains Frank Borrmann, product manager at lesswire AG. "With additional languages and features, which facilitate the use of the Wi2U car hotspot, we make the device even more appealing to our target group - also outside of Germa-ny."
The update is available without charge via the device menu of the Wi2U car hotspot.
