The scientific committee has invited Prof. Dr. Lerche, Managing Director of LUM GmbH, to give two keynote lectures.
Surface characterization of liquid dispersed submicron and nanoparticles by in-situ visualization of separation behaviour is the topic of the first contribution. The easy determination of the Hansen solubility parameter using LUM instruments LUMiReader® and LUMiSizer® is of increasing importance for the deeper understanding of separation processes. It is applied not only for new design particles but in traditional applications, for example in paint and lacquer industry, too.
Space and time resolved concentration profiling in highly concentrated non-transparent dispersions and sediments by X-Ray-STEP-Technology® is in focus of the second talk. For this purpose, the LUMiReader X-ray® is the commercially available instrument.
Maxim Loginov from Université de Technologie de Compiègne, France, reports on the determination of pressure dependence of particle volume fraction: combination of centrifugal methods with X-ray analysis of local sediment structure, results obtained by collaboration with LUM GmbH and the Institute of Biocolloidal Chemistry Kyiv, Ukraine.
Parallel to the conference LUM GmbH France will exhibit the measuring instruments Multiwavelength-LUMiSizer®, LUMiReader PSA® and LUMiReader X-ray®.
