Up to now, the strengths of EDA® have been expandable integrated functionalities, so that materials experts and users each receive optimal process support. Beyond simple material catalogs, EDA® can be used to integrate the relevant information for the creation of digital twins. The new version includes multiple enhancements allowing customer-specific adaptations to be implemented more easily and without programming.
Flexible interfaces allow the relevant information to be integrated into ERP and PLM systems. For example, EDA can read and write material cards of many popular CAD and CAE systems. This allows consolidation of information across sites in the sense of a "single point of truth" for materials. Data from materials testing are also linked to this master data management for materials. All information can be traced back to the raw data of the testing machines.
Reference databases for different material groups can contribute to the concept of a central and consistent source of materials information in the company. To this end, Matplus cooperates with leading associations and organizations to create reliable databases for steels, aluminum, copper alloys and polymers. In the customer context, customized in-house databases can be created from these.
"With the extended possibilities of the new version, customer adaptations can be realized more easily and quickly, so that solutions are productive faster and more cost-effective", explains Dr. Uwe Diekmann, Managing Director of Matplus GmbH.
