The carrier materials need to be tested of pressure fluctuations and of the reaction with various chemicals. An installation should be possible on materials such as metal, glass or plastic in order to ensure to be able to write all relevant data concerning the components and assembly process and its maintenance history and condition. This requires sophisticated solutions and RFID tags with a high security performance and large memory capacity.
Already last year microsensys presented in the context of the trade fair AIRTEC a specially manufactured and in accordance with DO-160E tested RFID transponders, the MINI-TAGspecial for the identification of aircraft parts.
Also on today's starting ILA (International Aerospace Exhibition) in Berlin the MINI-TAGspecial is shown until 1st of July. The companies Logica and Kortenburg show the application of the MINI-TAGspecial as the "Master-TAG" and attend Airbus S.A. Hamburg with a RFID system solution for tool management.
With the integration of RFID systems in maintenance and its processes of the aviation industry costs can be saved and security increases. This fact provides a clear competitive advantage.
Many industries recognize the economic benefits in the integration of RFID technology. The aviation industry is just one example.
