Work at a height of 82 meters
Built in 2010, the Weser Tower at Bremen international port is one of the region's most striking buildings with its height of 82 meters. The surroundings with the harbor and the mouth of the Weser River also offer a great atmosphere. It is no wonder that the Weser Tower is a desirable address for attractive office spaces. The air-conditioning unit is an important element of the building. The unit's finned heat exchangers is positioned on the roof at a height of 82 meters. The time had come to clean the exchangers.
Kipp Umwelttechnik was commissioned to clean it by the service provider responsible for these systems.
For Kipp Umwelttechnik it was the highest exchanger cleaning job in Europe to date using the cleaning system JetMaster. They have only been higher up in buildings in Arabic states when finned heat exchangers needed to be cleaned.
Gentle pressure achieves high cleaning power
The specially developed JetMaster cleaning process works with compressed air and smallest quantities of water between 0.2 - 0.75 liters per minute. The cleaning method is also suitable for sensitive areas due to the low quantities of water. Due to the fact that the water accrues mainly as aerosol, it is also possible to clean areas where water would normally be a disturbing factor.
The sensitive fins are not damaged by cleaning. They are not only surface cleaned, but the full construction depth is cleaned using this technology. The JetMaster can even clean finned heat exchangers with large construction depths (up to 840 mm). Oily dirt or extreme deposits of limescale are not a problem and can be fully cleaned off without causing any damage.
Regular cleaning as a maintenance measure
Dirt on finned heat exchangers forms a layer that significantly reduces energy efficiency and can quickly cause energy costs to rise by 20% and more. Moreover, the corrosion caused by dirt leads to a shorter unit service life. Regular cleaning is a preventative maintenance measure, alongside the energy saving aspect.
Quick and efficient work
Even in the 82 meter high Weser Tower, the work was able to be completed within three hours without any problems. With outstanding weather, lots of sunshine and an excellent view over the beautiful surroundings, the employees from Kipp Umwelttechnik all agreed: that was one of the most beautiful job locations in a long time.
