NEP Solar is also proud of the successful commissioning of our two newest flagship projects in 2013: The collector field at Cremo SA, a large milk processor in Freiburg, Switzerland, was started up in early summer and now provides clean heat at up to 160°C for Cremos coffee cream production. The parabolic trough collectors are mounted in a very closely packed arrangement on a slanted roof structure. The layout allows for a probably record breaking roof space usage for a trough installation: 580m2 collector aperture are installed on 750m2 roof space - a roof space usage factor of >75%.
Meanwhile NEP Solar Pty Ltd in Australia has successfully commissioned the first project with the new high temperature version of the PolyTrough 1800 collector: An evacuated receiver tube and upgraded hot parts on the collector allow to reach 330°C with excellent efficiency. The project with Granite Power Ltd in Newcastle, Australia demonstrates heating of an organic fluid in supercritical state directly in the 330m2 collector field. This project received funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).
Several new projects keep the company busy going forward: Tri-Generation (heating, cooling and electric power) for the University of Technology in Sydney, Solar cooling and heating for Stockland shopping center in Wendouree and process heat for a carbon capture and storage project for CSIRO in Vales Point, all in Australia and the latter two also receiving funding from ARENA.
