Neschen has again improved the quality of the self-adhesive book protection film filmolux soft. The well-known brand product manufactured by the coating specialist based in Bückeburg, Lower Saxony, is now even more pliant and so adjusts more flexibly to the book's contours, especially into the book fold. The improved film has a delayed initial adhesion and can so be easily corrected during the covering process. Librarians and bookshops particularly appreciate this feature and that is why filmolux soft is used so widely in libraries. The high-quality protection film is also being increasingly used to cover school books.
"Our book protection film filmolux soft is easy to handle and this is why it is such a popular book protection in libraries and schools," said Anja Spitzer, Product Manager at Neschen AG in Bückeburg. "It is not without reason that specialists use the brand name as a synonym for the covering of books and talk of "filmoluxing". The backing has a grid for comfortable handling which enables the user to cut the film easily and then peel it off from the cut edge."
Due to the reduced initial adhesive power (full adhesion only develops after about 24 hours), books can be covered without bubbling and when pressing down, the film can be corrected on almost all surfaces.
Books covered with filmolux soft can be cleaned with the usual cleaning materials. They also provide a better protection from dirt and wear which lengthens their life span in libraries and schools. Due to the glossy, crystal-clear surfaces, the print colours of the book jackets appear particularly brilliant.
Neschen always uses solvent-free, water-based aspersion acrylic adhesives that are age-resistant and permanently elastic. The coating specialist rigorously checks all raw materials to ensure that they do not contain any questionable additives.
Neschen successfully launched the new filmolux soft at the German Librarians' Conference 2013 in the Congress Center Leipzig from 11 to 13 March. Anyone interested was able to try out the book protection film on site and convince themselves of the product's high quality. filmolux soft is available in a 25-metre roll with a width of between 20 and 61 centimetres.
