"No other sector of the market reflects the current business climate quite so directly and rapidly as ours," explains Wigbert Biedenbach, Chairman of the Board at Job AG. "This makes it all the more important for us to ensure that the scope of our information and communication technology provision is able to keep up with developments in the marketplace." Over 300 Job AG employees use either PCs or thin clients to access MS Office, MS Exchange and a specialist personnel-management software, all of which are operated in the Pironet NDH Datacenter. The applications are made available on a Software-as-a-Service basis: Invoicing takes place on a monthly basis and charges reflect actual usage. This enables the agency to make accurate, long-term calculations while drawing its ICT services from a single source.
Job AG is looking to double the number of branches between now and 2010, all of which should have access to both the full range of applications and the network in a short space of time. The agency's ambitious growth plans played a significant role in the selection of an ICT outsourcing partner, from whom the necessary scalability was an absolute must: "The centralisation of the applications in the Pironet NDH Datacenter puts our project partner in a position to connect up new branches on a Plug & Play basis, providing us with a ready-to-go infrastructure for any number of employees in no time at all," as Wigbert Biedenbach puts it, underlying the reasons behind the selection of the project team from RVC Roland Vollmer Consulting and Pironet NDH.
In the course of the migration, the entire Job AG application landscape - including locally stored user data from the 70 branches - was transferred to the Pironet NDH Datacenter. "When it comes to dynamic projects where time is of the essence, middle-sized companies, which operate flexibly, rapidly and at the same level as the customer, present the best possible solution," comments Markus Diegelmann, Chief Executive at Roland Vollmer Consulting.
There is another reason why the outsourcing of application provision is advantageous for Job AG: "We operate the applications on the basis of ITIL-compliant IT Service-Management," explains Udo Faulhaber, ICT Outsourcing Sales Manager at Pironet NDH. "This enables middle-sized companies to benefit from a professional level of service management that is normally only available to large companies."
