Next to the enhancements R12.1 also comes with new modules such as Oracle Sourcing On Demand, Manufacturing Operations Center to combine ERP data with real-time data from manufacturing, Oracle Site Hub within Master Data Management or Advanced Planning Command Center, Demand Signal Repository and Service Parts Planning for Supply Chain Planning. With Oracle Landed Cost Management e.g. a complete overview can be gained of all costs within the supply chain, incl. costs for transportation, insurances, duties and tolls.
A lot of these products can be integrated as Stand-Alone solutions into existing EBS 11i or 12 environments, which means that the entire system does not have to be updated in order to use these new functions. This results in cost-efficiency and short implementation times.
For the standard-based integration of different IT systems, Oracle offers the Application Integration Architecture (AIA). For the EBS R12.1 numerous prefabed Process Integration Packs (PIPs) are available, with which costs for integration can be minimized and flexibility can be gained. In addition, Oracle Business Intelligence Applications are integrated and enable for substantiated enterprise decisions by means of prefabed analyses, reports and dashboards.
EBS R12.1 supports both the current Oracle Database 11g and the new Release 11g of the Fusion Middleware. Development emphasis was laid on meeting compliance requirements, usability, a low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and ease of integration. The latter was achieved by the consequent use of a SOA-based integration architecture. Therewith Web Services – in connection with the E-Business Suite – can be uncomplicatedly provided, used and monitored in heterogenic application landscapes. By integrating Oracle WebCenter with Web 2.0 options, an easy configuration of individual user interfaces is possible to achieve intuitive operation.
„With the release 12.1 of the E-Business Suite, Oracle offers something for any enterprise, that does not have the EBS yet, and they get a comprehensive standard software with a lot of new features. And EBS-using enterprises can upgrade their system with the Stand-Alone solutions in a short time at low costs.” says Michael Mohl, CFO and Chief Solution Architect at PROMATIS software GmbH. PROMATIS is a long-time Oracle Partner and E-Business Suite implementer of the first hour in the German-speaking market.
