The Prysmian Group equips the 80MW system, consisting of 360,000 modules, ground-mounted over an area of 160 hectares (approx. 207 football fields) with a special PV cable named TECSUN. 1 MW per day will be installed – this is remarkable for an emerging solar market like the Ukraine. The project is divided into four 20MW phases; the completion is planned for end of this year.
The plant is estimated to produce 100,000 megawatt hours of electricity per year – enough to supply 20,000 households with green energy, representing savings of up to 80,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
This project confirms the Ukraine’s position as an upcoming renewable energy provider.
And with the cables of the Prysmian Group, this step was made possible.
TECSUN is a special product of the Prysmian Group and is intended for the use in photovoltaic electricity generating systems. The cable has outstanding weathering properties as well as ammonia resistance and is developed for a wide temperature range from -40°C up to +120°C.
Furthermore, the TECSUN PV-cable is released for being laid in the ground. In case of fire, halogen free materials ensure more safety and less corrosivity and toxicity. TECSUN PV-cables are approved by TÜV.
