The range of the QNAP solutions offered by RaidSonic will initially cover NAS servers for the SOHO area (small office, home) as well as for more demanding tasks. NAS servers by QNAP are well known by the name of Turbo NAS referring to the remarkable transfer speeds gained by those storage devices.
At first QNAP NAS for one up to eight HDDs will be available through RaidSonic. We like to highlight novelties like the TS 119 and the TS 219.
TS 119 is for one HDD. Its chipset with the Marvell 6281 works with 1.2 GHz, DDRII RAM is 512 MB. The NAS comes with a built-in iSCSI service. TS 219 is similar, but for two hard disc drives, it offers RAID 0 and 1. In about two months the new TS 419 for four HDDs will be available.
More powerful NAS for four up to eight HDDs have CPUs with Intel chips like Atom, Celeron and Core 2 Duo, which operate at up to 2.8 GHz. They offer comprehensive RAID solutions as well as outstanding back-up and security features. High transfer speeds when reading or writing, Hot Swap, Online RAID Capacity Expansion (step by step HDD exchange with the server running) and Online RAID Level Migration (upgrading the RAID level with the server running) clearly describe premium products.
