Bodo Garbe hands over management of the Electronic Solutions division to Gordon Hargreave, effective 1 October 2015. Mr Hargreave has been a member of the Executive Board of Defence since 1 July 2015. Bodo Garbe will continue to serve the Group in an advisory capacity, and remain a member of the Board until 31 December 2015.
In Berlin, Bonn and Koblenz, Mr Garbe will act as the principal point of contact for representatives of the political/parliamentary realm, the federal ministries and the Bundeswehr and its agencies, ready to discuss all major projects, including after the end of the year.
Key army equipment programmes in Germany where Rheinmetall is either in charge or plays a material role include the Future Soldier infantry system and the new Puma infantry fighting vehicle; in future, modernization of the Bundeswehr’s fleet of Leopard main battle tanks could also figure prominently. Bodo Garbe will answer directly to the Chairman of the Executive Board of Rheinmetall AG and, on behalf of the Group, continue to serve in the Presidium of the Association of the German Army.
