Medical Technology meets IT - the newly developed Operating Room Management System is a particularly important development for IT managers, hospital management and administrators. The system is being presented in Hall 1.2 / Stand E-115.
core nova was launched in the marketplace as the first fully network-based OR Management System in 2014. Cost-effectiveness and efficiency in the operating theater also have a high profile in light of the forthcoming E-Health Act. Dedicated software and hardware generate shorter operating and documentation times while maintaining consistent results for interventions.
However, significantly reduced energy costs, the security of patient data and not least the increasing requirements of surgeons and theater personnel for user-friendly equipment and enhanced comfort in their working environment are factors in favor of the core nova OR Management System.
This system is of equal interest to hospitals and medical practices in relation to use in new and existing operating theaters. The technology allows the system components of core nova to be used cost-effectively even in small out-patient surgical centers. Modularity is an extremely important aspect. This permits individual adjustment and therefore facilitates options for future upgrades and expansions.
"Everything from a single source is a key requirement", explained Jürgen Steinbeck, Managing Director of Richard Wolf GmbH, "and this enables us to adopt an individual approach to the needs of specific customers. We are able to guarantee complete planning, installation and configuration of the core nova system tailored to the functional processes and working procedures at individual hospitals carried out in conformity with the needs profile presented to us. Reliable plug-and-play procedures permit continuous expansion of the system at any time without complex configurations. In principle, core nova can be operated effectively and economically in any hospital environment. It can easily be upgraded by installing new software as necessary."
Medical devices and their control have to be protected against unauthorized access and manipulation. To date, this objective was only imperfectly achieved due to the wide diversity of devices and interfaces. core nova is therefore adopting new routes and using a platform of digital certificates to establish an integrated security architecture for communication between medical devices and software applications. core nova provides the enabler to connect the medical technology world of the operating theater with hospital IT - from admission of patients, through surgical intervention, to archiving.
