Laser diodes tend to show mode hopping, causing power noise and wavelength changes. To reduce mode hopping and power noise, Schäfter+Kirchhoff stimulates the low noise laser diode sources of the LNC-series to emit many modes simultaneously. That results in stable emitting conditions with reduced power noise (< 0.1% RMS) and reduced coherence length (<300µm).
The LNC-series low noise laser line generators are available in the wavelength range from 375 to 1550 nm. They are encased in rugged full-metal housings with integrated control and power electronics, which allow an analog and digital modulation of up to 100 kHz each. Besides it be available as micro lines (narrow lines with a Gaussian intensity profile across the laser line) or macro lines (at same working distance 2 to 5-times wider, depth of focus 7 to 35-times larger), also low noise micro focus generators and laser diode collimators.
