As part of his trip to Germany, José Palacios Jiménez, the Secretary of Commerce of the Mexican state of Jalisco, joined representatives of the state’s local government and industry to pay a visit to Scheugenpflug AG. They were welcomed by Erich Scheugenpflug, the founder and CEO of this specialist company for metering and dispensing technology.
During a company tour, Minister Palacios Jiménez and the delegation learned about the technological innovations developed by the Neustadt-based company and discussed existing work relations with representatives from Scheugenpflug. On 1st May 2016, Scheugenpflug AG opened up a new subsidiary in the Mexican city of Guadalajara, the capital of Jalisco. It was in view of this fact that the minister, Palacios Jiménez, offered the technological leader additional support in the form of state-organized sponsorship projects. An industrial park especially for foreign companies was built for example at an excellent location and with the most modern infrastructure in Jalisco.
Attractive market for automotive applications
During the visit, Erich Scheugenpflug commented, “As one of the five largest production locations for the automobile industry worldwide, Mexico has a lot of potential to offer our high-quality bonding, metering and dispensing solutions.” Around 3.5 million cars were built there in 2015 and the aim is to increase production to 5 million cars by 2020. Numerous renowned companies from the electronic industry, aerospace and medical engineering sectors are already based in Mexico.
