Perfect basis for license audits
The LOGINventory license management automatically recognizes whether the network scanner has found operating systems from physical or virtual machines, each applied with different license terms and links virtual machines with its VM host. The supplied license reports provide a complete documentation of the entire license situation so that license officers can relax as soon as confronted with a license audit.
Enhanced software recognition
In addition to recognizing classical software packages, also ISO/IEC 19770-2 SWID tags are supported. Moreover, LOGINventory7 discovers various publishing methods such as MS Published Apps, MS App-V or Citrix XenApp. The recognition is made by remote agents directly from the LOGINventory7 computer, they do not have to be rolled out before. Finally, the Exchange inventory has been enhanced so that several mailbox attributes are inventoried and evaluated, for example the current and maximum size or used server features and necessary CALs.
Inventory of notebooks outside the LAN
LOGINventory now has an optional Windows agent for computers that rarely or never are in the LAN such as laptops or DMZ servers. This offline agent can inventory the local computer on a regular basis and send the data via an encrypted Internet connection to the LOGINventory7 server.
Roland Lötzerich, CEO of LOGIN, says about the new version: “LOGINventory7 meets the specifications of large software manufacturers to meet the license compliance and is the ideal tool for preparing and passing license audits. This release is an important milestone in the LOGINventory evolution.”
