Securosys Primus HSM now Common Criteria EAL4+ certified

Securosys, a leader in cybersecurity, encryption, and digital identity protection, is pleased to announce that Securosys' Primus Hardware Security Modules (HSM) have received the Common Criteria (CC) EAL4+ certification based on the eIDAS protection profile EN 419221-5, certificate number CC 1/21. This is in addition to the FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certification for the Primus HSM.

This means that Primus HSM can now be deployed for eIDAS trust services and complies with the European eIDAS and Swiss ZertES regulation for digital signatures (QSCD), seals, and time stamps.

What does the Common Criteria EAL4+ Certification mean?
  • The Primus HSM facilitates remote signing services in conjunction with the protection profile EN 419241-2, and any other related protection profiles, to meet the requirements for Sole Control Assurance Level 2 of EN 419241-1.
  • Companies can now rely on Securosys' Primus HSM to comply with European eIDAS regulation for digital signatures, seals and time stamps.
  • Certification according to eIDAS Protection Profile EN 419221-5 opens up new business opportunities for Securosys and its partners.
This recent certification offers a wide range of business opportunities, among which is remote digital signing. For example, it can enable corporations to generate digital signatures remotely, which greatly simplifies processes such as signing contracts, opening an account or issuing insurance policies. It also makes it much easier to build eIDAS certified SAM remote signing solutions and services.

"eIDAS is the European Commission's way of driving the digital transformation in Europe," said Robert Rogenmoser, CEO of Securosys. "With the certification according to the EN 419221-5 protection profile, Securosys underlines its efforts to offer compliant and highly secure crypto processors."

Customers with active maintenance contracts can upgrade and take advantage of the new features by downloading Primus HSM Firmware 2.8.21 release from the Securosys Support Portal.
