With the powerMELA concept, STW presents individual components for power electrification. ESX family control units, sensors, telematics platforms, and central electric systems for power distribution and operating units, combined deliver an unrivaled system.
Whilst the diesel engine works at an optimum rpm and with an optimum degree of efficiency, electrical energy is generated by a crankshaft generator. This can be utilized directly via a 600 VDC network by the powerMELA electrical machines for drives. Electrical energy, which flows back in to the system through recuperation, is put into intermediate storage in a battery. The efficient use of this energy is guaranteed through the powerMELA Battery Management System (BMS). When required, the battery supplies additional energy for the drives and supplies other consumers within and on the tractor via DC/AC inverters or DC/DC transformers and central electric systems. In comparison to systems with hydraulic components and PTO shafts, the overall system not only provides the highest degree of efficiency, but also ensures a longer lifetime and lower failure rates through the ideal operation of all components.
The control of the engine and driving speed and the control of the speed of attachments takes place via appropriate operator interfaces.
STW provides its customers access for performance electrification via a starter kit and through the design of a system solution tailored to the task in hand.
