The application spectrum for mobile machines and commercial vehicles is continuously expanding in size, making increasingly complex solutions necessary in order to cope with specific tasks. As a result of this complexity, machines and commercial vehicles must generally be equipped with systems which have been especially coordinated and designed for the purpose, and which can also be integrated into the overall system.
In order to be able to fulfil the rising demand for such holistic solutions, Sensor-Technik Wiedemann GmbH (STW) has called their new “Systems and Solutions” business division into being. The main task of this new business division is the systematic processing of precisely these challenges, and therefore the creation of palpable added value for customers’ mobile machines and commercial vehicles. This added value is achieved via a diversified portfolio. As a result, for example, STW can support the complex design of new vehicle systems through HMI and provide functionally reliable control technology which in turn represents enormous added value for processes on machines or vehicles. Amongst other things, “Operator Assistance Systems” are being worked on in this new business division, which, depending on the requirements, enable both semi-autonomous and fully-autonomous interaction of machines or commercial vehicles with their environment, and therefore expand or open up completely new application possibilities.
Further added value can be achieved through the implementation of new functions into already existing systems, such as the integration of environmental monitoring on commercial vehicles. In addition to OEM qualities, the processing and updating of existing systems is focussed on along with the upgrading of suitable technologies. Retrofitting solutions round off the portfolio.
