Sensor-Technik Wiedemann presents a Cumulocity-based cloud solution

(PresseBox) (Kaufbeuren, )
At this year’s BAUMA in Munich, Sensor-Technik Wiedemann GmbH (STW) will be presenting their STW cloud solution for the construction industry with the Cumulocity-based cloud solution. With the connectivity of construction machinery and the availability of important data from working equipment, Industrie 4.0 becomes reality in the construction industry. Nothing now stands in the way of integration into horizontal and vertical processes.

Naturally, the data collection and connectivity begins on the machine itself. In addition to solutions for automation using displays, controls, measurement technology, and for electrification, STW provides on-board modules for connecting machine to machine (M2M) and to the cloud. The TC3G normally records relevant data via CAN bus, but also via WLAN or Bluetooth 4.0, stores it, provides it with a time and position stamp, and can pre-process and securely send this to the STW cloud. The configuration of the signals to be recorded is executed dynamically, scalably and adaptably at any time via a Web application integrated into the STW cloud. The configuration can be executed online or offline.

Once the data is stored in the database of the cloud server, the STW cloud provides all options for appropriate evaluation, presentation and access administration or for forwarding and horizontal and vertical integration into the process landscape. Since no programming knowledge is required, application-specific changes can also be implemented by non-IT specialists, saving time and costs. The data is available for use from any location via Internet browser. High standards of security governing access and data storage are standard. Together with the multiple award-winning company Cumulocity, STW has created the basis for their customers for the design of a solution optimally adapted to the requirements of the construction industry. The vertical integration provides “profiling”, i.e. the classification of a use under a certain scheme, service optimization or condition monitoring. It supports both pre-emptive diagnostics and maintenance, as well as remote maintenance. Horizontal integration ensures optimized work processes along the value added chain. Its objective is higher utilization and availability, and the improved ability to provide information with respect to a customer. As a result, additional potential arises for many companies for new services and the support of BIM (Building Information Modeling).

STW will demonstrate the path from the construction machine to the STW cloud, simple adaptation and integration in Hall A5, Booth 125.
