Avnet Silica to combine latest power electronics solutions with design-in expertise at PCIM Europe

Distributor unites leading power device providers and offers technical knowhow at Stand 7-223 in Nuremberg

(PresseBox) (Brussels, Belgium, )
Avnet Silica, an Avnet company (NASDAQ: AVT), today provided details of its participation in the leading power electronics exhibition, PCIM Europe, which is taking place between June 11th - 13th, 2024 in Nuremberg, Germany.

The company will be exhibiting the newest power solutions from leading suppliers such as onsemi, ST, Renesas, Navitas Semiconductor, Nexperia, Diodes Inc., and Monolithic Power Systems. Avnet Silica backs a broad product offering with its own technical expertise that helps guide engineers to confidently design in the very latest power technologies along with sophisticated and dependable supply chain solutions.

The fast-paced development of silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) wide bandgap semiconductor technologies – many of which Avnet Silica offers - has elevated power devices to meet the performance, reliability and efficiency needs in a wide range of new and progressive end applications in areas such as renewable energy, industrial and transportation.

Highlighting use cases of power devices and solutions provided by Avnet Silica, customers such as DG Innovate, Flux Performance, Salom Power, and Monet will present their innovations at the distributor’s stand. End-product exhibits include Flux Performance’s electric motocross bike prototype, DG Innovate’s 72-SiC-MOSFET truck axle, and live mobile phone charging courtesy of Salom Power.

Numerous demonstrations from Avnet Silica’s trusted suppliers will include:

ST’s 7kW bidirectional AC/DC converter, suitable for equipment such as forklifts, trucks, cars, and even robots

onsemi’s SiC 25kW fast EV charging platform, offering bidirectional power transmission

Renesas’ 300kW motor inverter with digital control

Navitas Semiconductor’s GaN power supply boards for consumer and industrial applications

Nexperia’s 48V motor control board, designed for controlling small-sized industrial motors such as robots and cobots

Diodes’ SiC power module table inlay, capable of servicing automotive applications utilising 400V architecture

“Keeping up with the ever-evolving electronics industry – especially in the power sector - is challenging but shows like PCIM provide a fantastic opportunity to explore the latest technologies and network with industry peers” said Thomas Hauer, Technology Specialist Manager Power Avnet Silica. “At PCIM Europe, we are proud to present a variety of the latest innovations in power electronics, including SiC and GaN portfolios, from trusted global providers and show use cases that bring the technologies to life. Our team of experts will also be on hand to provide valuable insights and support to attendees looking to explore the latest products for use in their upcoming applications”.

In addition, Avnet Silica’s technical specialists will provide expert advice on how to enhance designs and advance projects using the distributor’s creative solutions.

Visitors will be able to see live demonstrations and connect with Avnet Silica’s power experts at stand 7-223.
