SMA Solar Technology AG is the most well-known inverter manufacturer in Germany. This is the result of the “EndkundenMonitor 9.0”, a study of the German PV market conducted by independent market research company EuPD Research. Nearly 2,000 solar system owners and planners participated in the online survey. Almost one out of every two PV system owners with a PV system of up to 40 kWp opts for PV inverters from SMA. This means SMA continues to be the most widely sold inverter brand in Germany.

SMA also received the highest marks in the categories of customer satisfaction, recommendation and purchase, and continues to expand its significant technological lead over its competitors. In addition to questions concerning inverters, modules, etc., the study by EuPD Research explored experiences with monitoring and maintenance of PV systems. The participants of the study were asked about their attitudes toward battery-storage systems, e-mobility and cloud and community solutions.
