Current and future edTech trends at Learntec
The Learntec is Europe’s biggest event about digital education and shows its further technological developments. The potential of virtual-, augmented- and mixed-reality, all referred to as extended-reality (xR), will be demonstrated through practical examples of several industries. Already for the 27thtime education experts, public officials, and decision-makers of all economic sectors will be coming to the Learntec. Next to 300 other exhibitors straightlabs (str8labs) will present its newest solutions, that are already an established training method at several DAX-companies.
The future of education is digitalization’s leading force, as digital learning will soon be essential, in order to remain competitive in the era of digitalization. “It is the companies’ duty to take their employees along with them to digitalization. The staff’s learning speed is becoming a crucial factor when it comes to remaining internationally competitive.”, so Prof. Dr. Peter F. - J. Niermann.
Straightlabs takes part for the fourth time as a leading xR-developer
Already in 2016 straightlabs took part as one of the first companies in the xR-industry. It offers extensive learning opportunities according to the digital transformation. “We combine long-standing management and research expertise to a merge of games, didactics and technology. We have been developing innovative and interactive technologies with virtual training for over three years. Virtual training makes it possible to convey complex training contents economically efficient, individually scalable and most importantly with fun. At the Learntec 2017 straightlabs was still one of the few companies using mixed-reality, more specifically Microsoft’s HoloLens, and showing the advantages of this innovative technology.”, so Fabrizio Palmas.
Straightlabs is focused on creating a playful basis, as opposed to the usual didactical approach in the industry, so that learning contents of any kind can be integrated in it. Some examples for this approach are gamification, game-based learning or gamified learning and serious games. “It’s the only way to successfully use the same motivation while playing also in a learning context – it’s the only way one can really speak of playful learning.”, so Florian Sturm, project manager and game designer at straightlabs GmbH & Co. KG.
For the upcoming Learntec 2019 the big surprise will be which innovations straightlabs will present and other new technologies for the digital education market.
