Nuclear Power, Solar and Wind Energy in Down Under

(PresseBox) (Herisau, )
Australia's residents are grappling with high living costs and an energy crisis.

Since the 1990s, uranium as an energy source has been banned in Australia. However, nuclear power plants are now a topic of discussion. Next year, elections will take place, and the conservative opposition is open to nuclear energy. The Liberal Party leader aims to build seven nuclear power plants and invest in two mini reactors. Australia is still far from achieving net-zero electricity generation and lower power bills by 2050. The country is one of the world's largest exporters of fossil fuels. While private solar panel installations are becoming more common, progress in developing large-scale solar and wind farms has been limited. Yet, Australia has ideal climate conditions for such projects. Recently, approval was granted for an immense solar park, although not all permits are in place. It is estimated that final approval could take until 2027. The solar park is expected to span 12,400 hectares. Four gigawatts will be used for domestic power consumption, while the remaining two gigawatts are intended for transport to Singapore. Should the opposition win next year's election, Australia could potentially embrace nuclear power for the first time in its history.

Today, countries that have nuclear energy want more of it, and many nations that do not have it are now seeking it. At the UN Climate Conference in Baku, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, recently spoke out in favor of the advantages of nuclear energy. Globally, and within the EU, many states are aiming to ramp up their use of nuclear energy. Uranium investments might therefore be lucrative now, such as in Cosa Resources or Uranium Royalty.

Cosa Resources - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/cosa-resources-corp/ - is involved with uranium projects in the famous Athabasca Basin in Saskatchewan. The company’s portfolio includes approximately 216,000 hectares of land near well-known uranium corridors. The company boasts experience and success in Saskatchewan.

As the only royalty company in the uranium sector, Uranium Royalty - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/uranium-royalty-corp/ - stands out. The company has recently added a royalty on uranium projects in Saskatchewan to its portfolio.
