Frank-Jürgen Weise was Chairman of the Executive Board of the Federal Employment Agency from 2004 to 2017 and shaped its reform process. He also headed the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees from September 2015 to the end of 2016. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the German National Foundation and was Chairman of the Bundeswehr Structural Commission as well as Honorary President of Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe from 2017 to 2021. Until March 2024, Frank-Jürgen Weise was Chairman of the Hertie Foundation for Education and Health Projects.
