trans-o-flex strengthens its Board of Directors

Axel Stetenfeld as the new CFO / Dr Sven Rutkowsky assumes the newly created position of CRO

(PresseBox) (Weinheim, )
With effect from 1st September, the trans-o-flex Logistics Group has appointed Axel Stetenfeld Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In addition to this, Dr Sven Rutkowsky has assumed the newly created position of the company’s Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO). Axel Stetenfeld succeeds Michael Stadlmann, who will leave the company at his own request in order to take on a new professional challenge. “I am very happy that, with Axel Stetenfeld and Sven Rutkowsky, we can again welcome two absolute professionals to our team. Thanks to the smooth process in the Finance area, we will have sufficient time to ensure a good and proper handover”, says Frank Iden. “In the name of the entire Board of Directors, I would like to thank Michael Stadlmann for his very good work and wish him all the best for his future career.” Stadlmann had taken over the position of Managing Director Finance & Controlling in January 2014 and, since then, had played a major role in the development of the trans-o-flex Group. In addition to the Finance area’s re-organisation and efficiency improvement, he also successfully supported the sale of the trans-o-flex Group to Amberger Familien GbR and Schoeller Holding as well as the adjustment of the company’s financial reporting to the new shareholders’ requirements.

Axel Stetenfeld (48) has acquired more than 20 years of experience in the parcel and express delivery business. In 1993, after having obtained his diploma in Business Economics in Koblenz, he started his career as a controller at Denkhaus AG. After the takeover of Denkhaus by the French GeoPost Group, he assumed various management positions in the finance and strategy areas, including six years as CFO of DPD GeoPost Deutschland GmbH. In his most recent position, Stetenfeld was a partner in the business consulting firm Bodhi Advisory Partners and CFO Germany for CEVA Logistics.

Sven Rutkowsky (48), who took his doctor’s degree in Transport Economics, has been a partner at A.T. Kearney since 2010. For his new function at trans-o-flex, he will, for the most part, suspend his work for the management consulting firm. In his previous career he was a member of Rhenus Logistik’s Management Board (eight years) and also worked for the Boston Consulting Group (ten years). Within the scope of his work for trans-o-flex, Sven Rutkowsky will be responsible for the Group’s restructuring and strategic projects and also directly manage the Logistics area.

With these decisions implemented, trans-o-flex’ Board of Directors consists of Frank Iden (CEO), Wolfgang Weber (Managing Director Operations), Axel Stetenfeld (Managing Director Finance) und Dr Sven Rutkowsky (Restructuring and Logistics).

trans-o-flex Express GmbH & Co. KGaA

The success of the Europe-wide operating trans-o-flex Logistic Group is based on three pillars, the one-stop-logistics shopping services of which can be perfectly combined with each other: 1. trans-o-flex has developed tailor-made industry solutions that create value-added for both dispatchers and recipients. The focus is on the Healthcare, Beauty and Consumer Electronics industries. This is made possible by a unique full-coverage network for the combined transportation of parcels and pallets (combi-freight) all over Germany that includes numerous express and additional services, such as the transportation of hazardous goods without being limited to small quantities. At the same time trans-o-flex, in its capacity as shareholder and partner of the EURODIS network, provides full-coverage combi-freight services in 35 European countries. 2. For the customers in the Healthcare industry, its core customer segment, trans-o-flex has set up two special networks that stand out as very successful USPs. For example, the trans-o-flex ambient network serves to ensure the GDP-compliant delivery of pharmaceuticals with active temperature control in the range of between 15 and 25°C. In addition to this, the trans-o-flex subsidiary ThermoMed takes over the GDP-compliant transportation of temperature-sensitive goods in the range of between 2 and 8°C. as well as deliveries to patients at home. International shipments with active temperature control are offered via the EUROTEMP network in six European countries. 3. Comprehensive logistic services from storage and picking/packing to value-added services up to customer-specific transport networks are developed and implemented under the umbrella of trans-o-flex Logistik Service. In 2015, annual sales of the trans-o-flex Group, which has a workforce of approximately 1,900 employees, amounted to ca. € 500 million. For more information, go to www.trans-o-flex.com.
