Chile's largest installation of a photovoltaic system on a roof surface was realized on the Mall Plaza Calama shopping centre's roof surfaces of an area of 3,500 m2. The installation comprises more than 2,000 polycrystalline Hareon solar modules with an output of 245 Wp which are connected with 22 three-phase SMA STP 20000-TLEE inverters.
The installation annually produces 1,131,000 kWh clean solar energy which is used for the shopping centre's own consumption. Mall Plaza uncompromisingly relies on solar energy generation through the use of own photovoltaic systems on their own buildings. The company thus is a major promoter of PV systems and a great support for the general development of this future-proof technology in Chile.
In Chile, TRITEC-Intervento SpA realized another 10 special solar power projects - such as one of the highest, stand-alone isolated systems in a research camp in the Andes; also, for example, the solar energy supply to Copec gas stations, or a grid-connected ground-mounted system at a vineyard.
