So haben Forscher der TU München die Mechanismen entschlüsselt, die über die Empfindlichkeit von ultrahochfesten Betonen beim Einbau auf der Baustelle entscheiden. Am Forschungsinstitut der Zementindustrie in Düsseldorf sind dank neuer Prüfverfahren Zusammenhänge entdeckt worden, die chemische Schrumpfprozesse während der Festigkeitsentwicklung von Betonen erst verstehen lassen. Und an der TU Kaiserslautern konnten kürzlich in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Fraunhofer-Institut ITWM weltweit erstmals Stahlfaserbetone unter Laststeigerung mithilfe eines Computertomografen beobachtet und durch Auswertungssoftware analysiert werden.
Insgesamt werden unter dem Motto "Beton - Werkstoff der Superlative" werkstofftechnologische Themen genauso diskutiert werden wie Entwurf, Konstruktion und Bemessung von Betontragwerken. Die Technische Universität Kaiserslautern, die als einzige deutsche Hochschule über eine Professur speziell für das Konstruieren mit Hochleistungsbetonen verfügt, richtet die Veranstaltung bereits zum zweiten Mal aus.
