At launch in May 2022, what we'll offer will include thirteen courses centered around the needs of developers and integrators. The topics include introductions to TYPO3 and performing large-scale upgrades, as well as deep-dives into best-practices and intensive preparations for official certifications.
On-site courses will take place at the TYPO3 offices in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Hands-On Training in Smaller Groups
The TYPO3 Company's COO, Susanne Moog and technical writer and Documentation Team member Tom Warwick, will guide participants through the first courses.
"Our training courses are led by core developers with exceptional knowledge and I believe this is a great advantage for users. With small class sizes and hands-on training, we also guarantee personal and direct attention from our trainers.," says Mathias Schreiber.
TYPO3 GmbH is fully owned by the TYPO3 Association and has status as the official vendor of the open source content management system.
Experienced University-Level Instructors
Susanne Moog and Tom Warwick both have many years of experience with the CMS and with teaching TYPO3 in higher education.
Susanne has been developing websites with TYPO3 since 2005. She is a certified trainer in educating adults with additional training in the science of education and professional development. She has worked as a university lecturer in computer science and is an active TYPO3 community member.
Tom has been working with TYPO3 since 2008 and has conducted countless TYPO3 training courses for various user groups, from editors to developers. Apart from his activity in TYPO3's documentation team, he is a contributing lecturer in TYPO3 basics at the University of South Wales.
Session Examples
Two examples from the thirteen sessions:
What's new in TYPO3
This session gives an overview of the latest TYPO3 version (11 LTS). Participants are introduced to major new features and the most notable upgrade steps. It also includes a quick look at the plans for TYPO3 version 12, the next major release of the CMS.
Migrate to Composer
This session is offered due to popular demand. It is a workshop solely dedicated to migrating a legacy project to the Composer application-level package manager that is recommended for newer versions of TYPO3. The course includes installation and setup of Composer and continues with the basic steps that need to be taken to migrate an example project. It also offers guidance on how to migrate the participants' concrete projects.
