In March 2013 the DISC product line for the partially yttrium-stabilized zirconium dioxide material VITA In-Ceram® YZ will be extended to include additional variations for dental CAD/CAM processing. The new VITA In-Ceram YZ DISC Color and VITA YZ DISC HT will be launched. With these new discs available in VITA's proven zirconium dioxide, VITA meets current user requirements and facilitates the fabrication of high-quality restorations featuring patient-specific esthetics.
The VITA In-Ceram® YZ DISC is available precolored in monochromatic shades. The controlled coloring process based on industrial standards provides results in uniform quality of shades so that time-consuming and error-prone manual coloring is no longer required. A total of three shade variations is available - VITA In-Ceram YZ DISC Color light, medium and intense. If required, additional coloring with VITA In-Ceram COLORING LIQUID can be carried out to achieve even subtler shade variations. Moreover, a high translucent material variation is added to the proven VITA In-Ceram YZ DISC HT: the VITA DISC HT is ideal for the efficient fabrication of monolithic, fully anatomical zirconium dioxide restorations since veneering is not required thanks to the high translucency. This provides for a relatively inexpensive yet attractive alternative to non-veneered or partially-veneered metal restorations. The HT-DISC is also a suitable substructure material for restorations intended to exhibit natural translucency.
Both the VITA In-Ceram® YZ DISC Color and the VITA YZ DISC HT are available in the usual sizes with a diameter of 98 mm and in heights of 14 mm and 18 mm.
